Voda Hires Two

Voddafone UK has announced two key marketing appointments to its consumer management team.
Phil Marsland will join Vodafone UK in the newly created role of Head of Customer Marketing on 15 September, while Charlie Smith, who has been acting as Head of Brand and Marketing Communications for the last four months has had his position made permanent. Both will report to Ian Shepherd, Vodafone UKs Consumer Director.
Marsland joins Vodafone from American Express, where he is Head of New Product Development for its Consumer Products division internationally. He also spent eight years at financial services company Capital One where he ran its Internet channel and New Ventures division, and has also worked as a management consultant.
Smith joined Vodafone three years ago from Orange, and has worked on a number of high profile campaigns and projects, including the recent mobile Internet and mobile broadband as campaigns, as well Vodafones music programme.
