Three Quarters of CXOs Own Tablets, says Frost & Sullivan

Over 80 per cent of CXOs use e-readers - or use their Tablets as e-readers - during leisure time or business travelOver 80 per cent of CXOs use e-readers - or use their Tablets as e-readers - during leisure time or business travel75 percent of European CXOs (any C-level executive, including CEOs, CTOs and CIOs) own at least one Tablet device, according to a survey from Frost & Sullivan - and 20 percent own two or more. The 2011 EU CXOs' Choice: Mobile Devices survey also found that the most important attributes in a Tablet for executives are reliability, overall quality, and screen clarity.

Smartphones, however, have seen a dip in use for purely business purposes in 2011 compared to 2009, due to the popularity of smartphones for personal purposes, while the most commonly owned brand of handset has shifted from BlackBerry in 2009 to Apple.

“Overall, CXOs perceive wireless communication and battery life as the most important smartphone features,” says Christina Alfaro, Frost & Sullivan research analyst. “However, most CxOs also rate overall quality and ease-of-use very highly, while security and applications compatibility are viewed as less important.”
