LocalResponse and ShopLocal Partner for In-store Mobile Offers

LocalResponse, which targets offers to consumers’ mobile phones and PCs, has teamed up with retail promotion specialist ShopLocal to enable brands to target consumers with real-time ads and product information while they are in store.

The companies will integrate LocalResponse’s data network with ShopLocal’s SmartCircular offering. LocalResponse identifies consumers who are currently shopping at a specific store by monitoring public social media channels and check-ins. By integrating ShopLocal’s API, LocalResponse can then offer those consumers a dynamically generated ad with real-time product information and offers, including coupons, loyalty rewards, and discounts. Consumers can then select any offers that appeal to them and redeem them at the checkout. Prior to the new agreement, ShopLocal’s SmartCircular solution was only available to consumers via the desktop. The companies say that retailers can now use the solution to target an increasing number of social-savvy shoppers.  

“Our partnership with ShopLocal represents an exciting opportunity for retailers looking to target mobile users with in-store promotional campaigns,” says LocalResponse president and co-founder, Kathy Leake. “Our ability to offer ShopLocal’s SmartCircular product as a mobile experience makes POS promotions more relevant for consumers, and we believe, will significantly increase in-store redemptions and purchases that may not have occurred otherwise.”
ShopLocal’s interactive promotional services are currently used by some of the world’s biggest retailers, including Target, Best Buy, Home Depot, Staples, CVS and Sears.
