Columbia CHARGEs Ahead with Mobile Payments

Columbian payment processor Redeban Multicolor (RBM) has partnered with mobile payment solution provider CHARGE Anywhere to launch mobile payments in the country.

RBM will deploy CHARGE’s mobile payment acceptance technology to enable merchants to accept mobile payments on Android, iOS and BlackBerry devices. In addition to supporting credit, debit, EMV and private card electronic payments, the mPOS will also enable NFC payments.

“We see mobile payments as a mission-critical tool to bridge the gap for electronic payment acceptance between larger business owners capable of accepting electronic payments, and the many growing small and medium businesses established within the region,” said Valetin Echeverry, VP of technology for RBM. “It is our goal at RBM to bring electronic payment acceptance to areas that have not previously benefitted from electronic payments, and in support of the financial inclusion efforts for unbanked consumers by the National Government.”
