RadioShack and Target End Their Mobile Partnership

RadioShack and Target have dissolved their nearly three-year-long mobile partnership, effective 8 April, 2013.
RadioShack had been helping to operate Target Mobile and was managing Target’s post-paid mobility business, but not its pre-paid one. The two companies had been renegotiating the terms of the partnership since October 2012, but failed to establish an agreement that was acceptable for both companies.
Target released an announcement naming two new partners on the same day that its split with RadioShack was announced: Brightstar, a specialized wireless distributer, and MarketSource, an integrated sales and marketing services company.
“Collaborating with Brightstar and MarketSource will further enhance Target’s position in the wireless retail marketplace,” said John Butcher, VP of Electronics at Target.
