Publish and be Damned Successful
Over the past couple of years, publishing content on mobile has evolved from a nice-to-have to a must-do. Newspapers and magazine publishers, and other content owners, have seen the number of people accessing the content on their full-fat websites via mobile devices and, for the most part, put their house in order.
Their work in this respect has been made somewhat less onerous by the number of mobile publishing solutions out there that make it easier to repurpose content for display on mobile phones and Tablets.
This made the Mobile Publishing Solution category one of the most keenly contested in last year’s Effective Mobile Marketing Awards. The winner, after much deliberation, was Mippin, for the Mippin App Factory. This aims to give anyone the tools to build an app in just five minutes. The culmination of six years’ work and $12m worth of investment, the Mippin App Factory is an app creation platform that creates simple native mobile and web apps, and is available at low cost to businesses large and small.
No development skills are required when using Mippin – users simply add their branding, content source (based on an RSS feed), and then choose how the app should be distributed.
The system has been used to create the app for The Daily Star newspaper, as well as by Dennis Publishing for its Auto Express app, which at the time of winning the Awards, had been downloaded over 250,000 times.
We're expecting a tight contest in this category once again this year, and with the extension the deadline announced earlier today, you now have just over a week left to enter.

And remember, it's completely free to enter, and you can submit as many campaigns as you think are worthy of recognition. The Awards Ceremony takes place in London on 29 November.
