PhonepayPlus Registration Deadline Looms

Premium rate services (PRS) regulator PhonepayPlus has warned that companies must register with its new code of practice or risk incurring fines. 

The deadline for registration into the regulator's new code of practice is September 1. All PRS providers must register, and may only do business with similiarly registered companies. 

"Non-registration and contracting with a non-registered provider are both breaches under the new Code of Practice and can incur sanctions, including fines," says PhonepayPlus. 

The Registration Scheme can be accessed online at the PhonepayPlus website. Registering before the deadline costs £80 plus VAT, while after the deadline the fee goes up to £100 plus VAT.
