National Merchants Association Introduces Swipe Platform
![]()
National Merchants Association (NMA) has introduced a mobile payment system that enables users to convert their smartphone into a mobile POS system. The system consists of an external swiping device that connects to the smartphone through either the headphone jack or data port, depending on the phone. There is also an option to add a remote Bluetooth receipt printer if paper receipts are required. The device works with an app that connects the smartphone to the NMA processing gateway.
The swipe software is PCI-DSS certified and also gives merchants the option to enter credit card information manually, add a sales tax, and issue an electronic receipt. Digital signatures can also be accepted via a touchscreen interface.
The swiping device and mobile app are provided free of charge to merchants wishing to use the software. Pricing is on a per-swipe basis, with no contract requirement.
