Moblip Takes Mobile Award

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke  took the award for the Best Use of Mobile at the BT Digital Music Awards 2006 for his Moblip campaign, which offers consumers a free ringtone from his album, The Eraser. Yorke took the award in the face of competition from 3 Mobile & Sony BMG, Hard-Fi, 3 Mobile & Planet Funk, and MTV.
Other winners were Lily Allen (Best Pop Artist), Muse (Best Rock Artist), Lemar (Best Urban Artist) and The Wonderfuls (Best Unsigned Artist). Rock veteran Peter Gabriel picked up a Pioneer Award.
