Kineto VoIP Gets Smart, Goes Over the Top

Mobile wi-fi company Kineto has launched its Smart VoIP app, developed to enable mobile operators to leverage their existing network infrastructure to offer a competitive over-the-top (OTT) voice service.

“Kineto’s Smart VoIP solution is the first designed specifically for mobile operators to address the growing threat from third-party over-the-top voice services like Skype,” says Steve Shaw, vice president of marketing for Kineto. “Our Smart VoIP application helps operators create and brand their own over-the-top service to meet subscriber demands for mobile VoIP.”

Smart VoIP leverages existing R4 or IMS voice infrastructure, and can be branded by operators, and positioned as an extension of a subscriber's main voice service. The app works over wi-fi, 3G and LTE networks, on a range of mobile operating systems including iOS, Android and Windows Phone.
