JCDecaux Takes NFC Outdoors with Zappit
This follows the 'Test the Near Future' NFC outdoor trial which took place in Reading back in March. During the trial, more than 3,000 people scanned six NFC-enabled posters to get access to vouchers, rich media and social content - a number JCDecaux says would equate to 1m people nationwide.
“The ‘Test the Near Future’ trial showed that the public were overwhelmingly positive about the NFC-enabled outdoor experience, citing the ease of use of NFC”, said JCDecaux UK marketing director David McEvoy. “As the penetration of NFC-enabled smartphones continues to grow, there are new opportunities for clients to amplify their outdoor campaigns and to deepen their engagement with customers.”
zappit provides QR codes, NFC and mobile payment technologies to help brands build interactive ads for consumers to use with smartphones.
