ioko Establishes US Base

ioko, a technology firm which specialises in designing, building and running IT platforms on behalf of global media and entertainment enterprises, has entered the North American market, following more than ten years of deploying and managing media solutions across Europe. As part of the move, the company has established a southern California-based headquarters in Solana Beach.
ioko designs, builds and runs digital media platforms for media and entertainment companies worldwide. Its customers include the BBC, Sky, and C4. Systems integrated and managed by ioko enable digital media to be delivered across broadcast, broadband and mobile networks to TVs, PCs and mobile phones. The company powers the portals and platforms of many media organisations, providing streams and downloads to millions of users around the world.
ioko has made significant investments over the last nine months in data centre infrastructure, employees and operations to establish its North American operations. In addition to its North American headquarters in Solana Beach, ioko has provisioned two data centre facilities in Los Angeles and New York, which will serve as the backbone for its managed service offerings in North America, and expand the companys existing footprint in Europe.
ioko has also named Scott Sahadi as CEO for North America, responsible for all revenue, operations, marketing and business development operations in the region.Sahadi joins ioko from VeriSign, where he held the position of VP, Marketing for VeriSigns Global Media and Entertainment vertical. Prior to VeriSign, Mr. Sahadi served on the executive management team for digital media delivery company, Kontiki.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from U.C.L.A and an MBA from the University of Southern California with an emphasis in finance and marketing.
