Indian 2G spectrum goes under the hammer

An auction is being held in India for 2G licences in the 1800 MHz spectrum, which has been freed up by 122 telecom licences which were cancelled in February, after allegations of misallocation.

Five telcos - Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular, Telewings, Videocon, and Vodafone - have applied to take part in the auction.
