Haaretz is the First Israeli Publication to Hit the Newsstand

Israeli newspaper Haaretz has launched its English language iPad app, making it the first Israeli publication available on the Apple Newsstand.

The app, developed by Tigerspike, includes enhanced breaking news, photo and videos content, as well as a daily digital replica of the print edition, and interactive features. It also features commenting and social network integration.

The app is free to download, but requires a paid weekly digital subscription week in order to have unlimited access to all content.

"Following the popularity of our other digital offerings, we are excited to give audiences the ability to read, watch, touch, and experience Haaretz’s award-winning journalism on the iPad," says Haaretz head of digital, Lior Kodner. "Along with our new, redesigned website and our highly-rated smartphone apps, Haaretz continues giving readers options for interacting with our expanded digital content, on any device."
