Mobile Listings Site Launches for Jersey Shore Businesses, Post-Sandy

Digital commerce solutions provider Gold Mobile has partnered with the Jersey Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau to launch a mobile website that lists local businesses that are back in operation.

The .mobi site locates re-opened businesses, which can register for free, and lists their contact information, across 24 towns along the coast.

The site is part of the New Jersey Shore Community’s 'Open for Business' initiative, designed to boost business in areas most affected by Hurricane Sandy, many of whom have been out of commission for months since the hurricane struck. While the initiative has just started, businesses are hopeful that the addition of the mobile site will help drive commerce to the areas that desperately need it.

“The local merchants affected by Hurricane Sandy are our friends, neighbors and favorite Jersey Shore destinations,” said Bob Gold, CEO of Gold Mobile “In difficult times, you help your neighbors. So we used our expertise to create a user-friendly forum to spread the word about these ‘Jersey Strong’ businesses reopening, and doing it where most consumers connect – on their mobile devices.”
