CMC Brings Mobile Data Services To Falklands

Cable & Wireless Communications (CWC) has launched 2.5G mobile data services in the Falkland Islands.

For the first time, the 3,000 islanders will have access to mobile data services on their smartphones and Tablets.

The islands were subject to a war between Britain and Argentina in the early 1980s, and Argentina continues to lay claim to the islands which are reputed to have vast oil reserves.

Both prepay and postpay customers have access the new services. CMC is the sole fixed and mobile supplier in the islands.
