CAPTCHA Goes Mobile

An image and touch-based technology to make anti-spam CAPTCHA verification features work better on mobile has been created by Confident Technologies.

Rather than struggling to read or needing to zoom and then type text, the Confident CAPTCHA asks viewers to tap a series of pictures to prove they human. It automatically rotates and resizes depending on the screen.

"If a website isn’t optimised for mobile, shoppers will go elsewhere," said a spokesperson for the company. "According to consumer surveys, if mobile shoppers have a negative experience on a site or can’t find what they’re looking for, they’ll sooner seek out a competitor’s mobile-friendly site than switch to a PC to revisit the first site."
