Appointments Update: O2 Media and more

Simon Voysey promoted to creative solutions manager at O2 MediaSimon Voysey promoted to creative solutions manager at O2 Media

O2 Media has promoted business manager Simon Voysey to creative solutions manager. The promotion is part of O2's move towards being able to offer agencies and client's creative cross-media solutions, says the company.

The new role will see Voysey focus on partnering with brands to take O2 Media beyond traditional advertising. Voysey's remit will also cover working on how O2 Media can make mobile work better in supporting campaigns on TV, in press, and outdoor advertising.

Voysey has worked in media for 14 years, and prior to O2 help positions at TopTable.com, Channel 4, N1 Creative, and TMGH. He also helped to launch Blinkx in 2007.

Shaun Gregory, managing director at O2 Media, says: "With Simon's new role we're further strengthening our offerings for both brands and agencies. Mobile has cemented its position in the media plan but we now have to be able to offer intelligent and inventive ideas for campaigns. With in-house creative solutions we no longer need to rely on outsourced partners."

Voysey says: "O2 Media's mission is to integrate mobile into the traditional media mix and with my new role I can help to ensure that mobile reaches its full potential. I am excited to work with agencies and brands to optimise their campaigns and help O2 Media to push their offerings' creativity."

In addition to Voysey's promotion, O2 Media has appointed Gavin Emes as an account manager in the agency sales team. He joins O2 Media from Mobi Media, a Johannesburg-based mobile advertising agency.

In other appointments news, integrated online marketing company ValueClick has set up a new Mobile Division, and appointed Tim Scoffham to head it up.

Scoffham will be responsible for overseeing business development in mobile, and will be the primary source for expanding the mobile outreach with ValueClick Media's current client base.

"Tim's appointment marks our ongoing expansion and dedication to ensuring ValueClick Media remains one of the pioneering networks within the UK," says Richard Sharp, UK MD and head of trading. "Tim brings extensive mobile knowledge to the role and he understands how the division can be expanded within both the current client base as well as growing new avenues for business development."

Finally, Orange-owned digital advertising network Unanimis has appointed former CEO of Orange Digital Dominic Collins as its CEO.

Collins will report directly to Stephanie Hospital, executive VP of audience and advertising at the Orange Group. He replaces Khalil Ibrahimi, president of Unanimis.

Outgoing president Khalil Ibrahimi says: "I founded the Unanimis business 10 years ago and I leave it today with mixed emotions but also with tremendous pride in what I and our employees have achieved. It was always my intention to leave the company once we fully integrated with the Orange business, and Dominic Collins is the best person to lead it forward into the future. His experience of managing major digital businesses for big brands such as BSkyB and Autotrader makes him uniquely qualified to take the helm and deliver continued success for Unanimis."
