MMA Forum Heads for Budapest

The next Mobile Marketing Forum  staged by the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) takes place in Budapest from 7 – 8 October at  the Novotel Budapest Centrum Hotel.
Trailing the conference as “the premier event for mobile marketing in Europe”, the MMA says that regardless of your current level of activity or knowledge in mobile marketing, you and your organization will benefit greatly from attending.   
The event will include an examination of cross-media integration; case studies on Eastern Europe mobile marketing activities; digital agency and publisher experiences; top tips on how to make a success of the mobile channel; and a look at how to leverage mobile for brand awareness, loyalty, direct response.
The speaker line-up includes representatives from Orange, Yahoo!, The Weather Channel Vodafone Group Services, AdMob and OglivyOne. There’s more information on the event  here.

BlackBerry or iPhone what to buy?

It seems that the iPhone has won even more fans in the shape of HSBC chiefs. The powers that be over at the global bank have decided to look into using iPhones as their executive weapon of choice. That would mean replacing their fleet of around 300,000 BlackBerry devices.

Now that the new iPhone 3G is compatible with Microsoft Exchange servers, it has become more attractive to business as well as consumers. Its larger screen and applications geared towards trading and accounting are adding to the iPhones capability to become a serious business competitor.

News from the BlackBerry camp is that the BlackBerry Thunder, equipped with a large touch screen, will be released later this year to go into direct competition with the iPhone. Watch this space for a smartphone stand-off...
