Mobile Site for BMW 1 Series Canada Launch

BMW has launched its first Canadian .mobi site to assist in the launch of the 1Series. The mobile site can be found at: www.1series.mobi
The site was created by AddictiveMobility and managed by Cundari SFP for BMW Canada.Three versions of the site were created: high end (XHTML), low end (HTML), and a WML version for phones that do not support XHTML. This allowed for a larger reach for mobile accessibility, allowing users of lower-end Java phones to have the same experience as those on Smartphones. BMW's previous mobile forays include the BMW international site and specific sites by country, but this is the first designed specifically for the Canadian market.
The .mobi site boasts a 1Series video that is available for streaming on the site and for download to the user's mobile phone. Ringtones and wallpapers featuring the 1Series Cabriolet and Coupe are also available as free downloads.
In addition to a ‘Share’ option that enables users to refer their friends to the site by text message, visitors to the site can also book a test drive. Using the ‘Meet the 1Series’ link, users navigate by province to find locations closest to them. Ease of use was the top priority for the site, with innovative features such as Click-to-call, which put users in contact with local dealerships to schedule a test drive.
